Not only finishing on the podium for the first time in his Kumho FIA TCR World Tour campaign, Viktor Andersson also took his fifth consecutive win in the ETS Guest Star Trophy for drivers who aren’t full-time.
The Swedish racer won all three races last time out at Valencia when with Monlau Motorsport and while he couldn’t compete at Paul Ricard due to his clashing programme in TCR Europe, he was back this weekend in a CUPRA, this time run by SP Compétition.
With his career-best qualifying performance of sixth, he followed this up in the races with seventh in Race 1, and then third overall in Race 2, after ceding second at the final corner to his teammate Aurélien Comte.
“The joker element was really fun, and to be winning the ETS Guest Star Trophy again is really nice. It was also great to be racing in the pack, last year I had some issues, but this year I had great pace. We’ve also scored good points for the team this weekend,” he said.
