TGR Haas F1 Team suffered a double retirement from Round 12 of the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, the Dutch Grand Prix, held at Circuit Zandvoort.

Esteban Ocon started from 15th place on Pirelli P Zero Yellow medium tires, and gained two positions, before the race was red-flagged due to a high-speed accident for Max Verstappen at the final corner. Following an interruption of 30 minutes the race resumed, with a second standing start, and on used Red soft tires Ocon started from 13th position, before picking up a spot to run 12th following a penalty for Arvid Lindblad.

Ocon pitted for White hard tires on lap 16, and came in for his second stop on lap 38 - for another set of the hard compound, re-joining in the mid-pack. Ocon unfortunately came to a halt on lap 55 with a power unit issue, pulling his VF-26 to the side of the track, ending his 100 percent finishing record in 2026.

Ollie Bearman took the start from 20th on the grid, on the soft rubber, and worked his way through to 16th place by the time the race was suspended on account of Verstappen’s accident. Bearman was due to take the second start on used soft tires from 16th position but was forced to stop his VF-26 halfway around the formation lap - also due to a suspected power unit related issue.

TGR Haas F1 Team occupies seventh position in the Constructors’ Championship on 21 points.

Up front, World Champion Lando Norris claimed his second victory in a row for McLaren, ahead of Mercedes drivers Kimi Antonelli and George Russell.

Next Up:

Round 13 of the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship is the Italian Grand Prix at Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Practice – Friday September 4. Qualifying – Saturday September 5. Race – Sunday September 6.

Ollie Bearman:

“We had a good start and a good first lap, and then of course the red flag came out. After that, the engine turned off on the formation lap, and because we haven’t had any time with the car yet, we’re not entirely sure what the issue was, but on my side, I felt a total switch-off, which is a shame. It’s been a really horrible weekend, not the one we wanted to come back to, but we have some updates coming next week, and I really hope they can better our performance.”

Esteban Ocon:

“We haven’t had any reliability issues this year, this is the first one, and we think it’s related to the PU, but we’ll need to look into it first to properly understand. Both cars had issues, so neither of us finished the race, but it wasn’t going to change the world as we weren’t in point scoring positions anyway. The updates are coming, they’re needed, so we’ll see what the impact is.”

Ayao Komatsu, Team Principal:

“It’s very disappointing to finish the weekend on a double DNF with PU failures, so we need to look into it. It’s a shame, as Ollie virtually had no race, and with Esteban, we struggled a bit more in the race than in qualifying. In terms of trackside, I think what we got out of the car – before the failures – is what we had. The pit stops were very good, and with Esteban’s, stop we did our quickest of the season. That’s the positive, so I hope when we get a slightly faster car, we can make use of it.”
