Last year’s Greater Bay Area GT Cup (GT4) winner will be joined on the front row by Craft-Bamboo Racing’s Darryl O’Young, a two-time Macau GT Cup winner, who is racing in Macao for the 20th and final time as the Hong Kong driver calls time on his racing career.
Third quickest in qualifying was Lu Wenlong of TEAM PEGASUS, just ahead of W&S Motorsport’s Moritz Berrenberg. Kao Tzu Lung of LEVEL Motorsports qualified fifth, ahead of Macao driver Leong Ian Veng of SON VENG Racing Team and TOYOTA GAZOO Racing China teammates Wang Hao and Cao Qikuan.

When qualifying got underway following an early red flag, it was Han, second quickest in yesterday’s shortened practice session, who initially topped the time sheets. But O’Young quickly made his mark, with his 2m31.732 the time to beat for much of the session.
The red flags were shown a second time after Lao Kim Hou stopped at the Solitude Esses with 13 minutes remaining.
As the session resumed a short while later, there was a sense of urgency throughout the field. Han began to push immediately, his efforts paying dividends as he grabbed provisional pole by 0.010 of a second. A lap later and with just minutes remaining, Han extended the gap to O’Young with a 2m31.393 lap.
With less than two minutes to go, red flags were shown for a third time, this time as the McLaren of Ip Un Hou stopped at Moorish Hill. The session did not resume.
