Lu, who started from third on the grid, made his move into the lead at the start, getting past polesitter Han and Darryl O’Young at Mandarin Bend, in a race that was thrice interrupted by the safety car.
Fourth was Macao driver Leong Ian Veng of SON VENG Racing Team, while Kao Tzu Lung of LEVEL Motorsports rounded out the top five.
O’Young, closing out his racing career on the Guia Circuit in his 20th Macau Grand Prix appearance, was pushing to make a move on newly-crowned SRO GT Cup champion Han at the start, but it was Lu who pulled ahead to take the lead ahead of O’Young and Han. Liu, meanwhile, had started 10th but moved up to seventh. But the safety car was then called out following Liu Qiren hitting the barrier at Turn 1, while Brian Lai Chun Kit hit the barrier on the Mandarin Straight.

When racing resumed on lap 4, Lu got clear of O’Young to continue to lead the field, while O’Young was under attack from Han. But there was soon drama for O’Young, who hit the barrier at San Francisco Bend, with Moritz Berrenberg, who had been running in fourth, also getting caught up in the incident.
The safety car was deployed once again, before racing resumed with just three laps to go. Lu again held the lead, this time over Han, while Liu, running in fourth, gained a further place. But after Chen Chun Hua hit the barrier at R Bend, the safety car was called out for a third time and ultimately led the field over the line.
“We knew we had the pace all weekend, but Macao is very tricky and anything can happen here,” Lu said. “Knowing that, the plan was to get ahead as soon as possible, so making the move at Mandarin was definitely essential to win today’s race.”
