Yelloly Claims ELMS Pole in Le Castellet

A dramatic qualifying session ahead of the 4 Hours of Le Castellet saw the no43 Inter Europol Competition take the top spot on the grid with Nick Yelloly setting his fastest time of 1m48.976 at the chequered flag to deny Matteo Cairoli the honour in the no9 Iron Lynx-Proton by 0.235s.

Several drivers put in provisional pole position times with Mathys Jaubert, Reshad De Gerus and Matteo Cairoli swapping places at the top of the timing screens.With 6 minutes left on the clock the no43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca went to the top of the times with Yelloly setting a 1m49.174, which lasted until two minutes before the chequered flag when Matteo Cairoli posted a 1m49.009 and looked on course to take pole for Iron Lynx-Proton.

However, Yelloly was on a flying last lap and crossed the line in 1m48.741 to push Cairoli down to second place.The no9 Oreca was then pushed onto the second row when Charles Milesi crossed the line for the final time, posting a 1m48.976 in the no48 VDS Panis Racing Oreca to start the 4 Hours of Le Castellet on the front row of the grid.

Championship leaders IDEC Sport will start on row 2 alongside Iron Lynx-Proton, Mathys Jaubert finishing the session with a 1m49.206.

Row 3 will see the no34 Inter Europol Competition and no37 CLX Pure Rxcing Orecas starting side by side in tomorrow’s race.

LMP2 Pro/Am: ‘Spike The Dragon’ Smokes Qualifying

PJ Hyett secured pole for AO by TF outclassing the master of qualifying Giorgio Roda in the final couple laps of the LMP2 Pro/Am.

Roda set the early pace in the no77 Proton Competition and looked on course to secure his 7thELMS LMP2 Pro/Am pole in 8 attempts.With just four minutes left on the clock Roda was over a second ahead of the rest of the fieldbut then PJ Hyett started to shine in the purple dragon liveried Oreca moving up to second spot with less than three minutes to go.

On the next lap the no99 AO by TF Oreca took provisional pole with a 1m51.656, only to be pushed back to second by Roda’s next lap of 1m51.586.

The final lap of qualifying saw Hyett push on, with a slight twitch of the rear of the car in the final sector.Despite this the no99 Oreca crossed the line in 1m51.442 to claim pole by just 0.144s.

Rodrigo Sales will start on row 2 in the no29 TDS Racing Oreca, with the no3 DKR Engineering Oreca alongside in fourth spot.

The 4 Hours of Barcelona winning no83 AF Corse failed to complete a lap in qualifying and was back in the garage being worked on by the mechanics.

LMP3: Adrien Closmenil Claims Pole by Nearly One Second

For the second time in 2025 Adrien Closmenil claimed the LMP3 pole.The French driver was 0.925 seconds ahead of the other nine cars at the chequered flag with a 1m57.194 lap in the no17 CLX Motorsport Ligier-Toyota.

The no17 Ligier will be joined on the front row of the class grid by the no8 Team Virage Ligier after the Dutch driver moved up the field in the final two minutes of the session with a 1m58.119, moving ahead of the no12 WTM by Rinaldi Racing Duqueine of Griffin Peebles by 0.067s.

The no11 Eurointernational Ligier will also be on row 2 of the grid, with the no15 RLR MSport and no68 M Racing Ligiers starting from row 3.

LMGT3: Mateu Claims Pole for Racing Spirit of Leman

The no59 Racing Spirit of Le Man Aston Martin will head the 13 car LMGT3 grid for the 4 Hours of Le Castellet after Clement Mateu dominated the 15-minute session.The French drivers’ best lap was a 2m04.641, seven tenths ahead of the rest of the field led by the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari of Duncan Cameron.

Martin Berry had made a bid for the top spot with five minutes of the session remaining, but a track limits violation deleted the time and dropped the no63 Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG back down the 13th.Berry dug in and took third spot at the chequered flag with a 2m05.417, 0.083s ahead of the no50 AF Corse Ferrari driven by Custodio Toledo.

Row three of the LMGT3 grid will be filled by the no74 Kessel Racing Ferrari and the no85 Iron Dames Porsche.

The 4 Hours of Le Castellet will take place tomorrow, with the race starting at 12h00 CEST.
