Ehrlacher is the clear favourite, holding a 34-point lead and boasting a series-high four wins this season. The 29-year-old is pursuing his third world title overall, his first since 2021, following a remarkably high-scoring and consistent performance that began in Mexico back in May.
Meanwhile, 44-year-old Swedish racer Björk returns as a title contender for the second year running. With three wins this year, he aims to capture his first world title since he took the final WTCC drivers’ crown in 2017. Björk has history on his side at Macau, having secured pole position and a race victory there last year. Furthermore, the Lynk & Co car has historically been dominant on the fabled 6.2km street circuit, with the Chinese brand famously achieving a hat-trick of victories on its 2019 debut.
The title fight won't just be between the teammates. Other strong competitors are expected to play a critical role, including BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse driver Norbert Michelisz and GOAT Racing’s Esteban Guerrieri. These two are the only drivers besides Björk to have previously won a race at the iconic event, making them key factors in the upcoming battles.
