New concepts and venues

A return to North America for a maiden ice race, a street race in Great Britain and aninaugural Australian race weekend highlight an eight-country 2025 FIA World Rallycross Championship calendar.

The 2025 FIA World Rallycross Championship calendar was confirmed by the FIA World Motor Sport Council today (17 October) and includes a thrilling mix of venues both old and new.

The season will begin in Canada from 23 - 25 January as the battle between electric and sustainably-fuelled combustion engine cars takes to ice for the first time in World RX history.

2025 is bookended by another first as World RX travels to Australia from 21 - 23 November for the final round of the season in Rallycross Promoter’s first step towards securing a permanent foothold in Oceania.

Another highlight is the return of the incredibly popular street circuit format, this time on the streets of the United Kingdom from 30 May to 1 June.

FIA championship rallycross returns to Lousada, Portugal (2 - 4 May) for the first time since 2008, presenting a new challenge for the current crop of World RX drivers whilst Kymiring in Finland is promising to be ‘best in class’ with an all-new track being developed for the 13-15 June event.

There is, of course, plenty of familiarity on the 2025 calendar. From 11 - 13 April, Nyirád’s famous ‘Red Cauldron’ in Hungary will additionally host the opening round of the European season; Sweden’s famous ‘Magic Weekend’ is once more an unmissable event at the height of the Scandinavian summer from 4 - 6 July; whilst Türkiye, which is currently gearing up to host the final round of the 2024 season, will welcome drivers to İstanbul Park for the penultimate event of 2025 (25 - 27 July).

“We are incredibly happy with the diversity of this calendar,” expressed World Rallycross Promoter Managing Director Arne Dirks. “To have a mix of traditional events, as well as all-new stops mixed in with brand-new concepts was always the aim for us as the Promoter. If we are to look at the 2025 calendar, we can confidently say we are close to achieving the perfect blend.”
